What are the presenting opportunities?

There are three presentation opportunities presenters can choose from: Breakout Sessions, MCC Demo and Discussion, and Morning Activities. We are also looking for people who would like to coordinate and host an Affinity Group, for those, we have provided contact information below to let us know!

  1. Breakout sessions. These 60-minute workshops should be interactive and clearly related to coaching. The presentation can be focused on Core Competencies or Resource Development for ICF CCEU credits. These sessions will be recorded by audio for public distribution.

  2. MCC Demo and Discussion. We invite MCC coaches to participate in this session to provide an opportunity for other coaches to experience a live coaching session with an MCC coach and a discussion to follow.

  3. Morning Activities. These are up to one-hour sessions that will take place before breakfast. We are looking for creative activities such as group journaling, hiking, mindfulness meditations, Tai Chi, Yoga, etc.

How will applications be evaluated?

The review committee will have an evaluation rubric to assist with evaluating applications. The rubric will consider the following criteria:

  • ICF credentials of the lead presenter. Co-presenters do not necessarily need to be ICF certified.

  • CCE potential. All presentations will be judged according to their potential to be approved by the ICF for continuing coach education credit, especially in the Core Competency category.

  • Topics that are provocative, engaging and relevant will earn the most attention.

  • Presenters who are poised and skilled in facilitation and public speaking are desired.

  • Timely and complete submission of the application.

Why are you requiring this specific information on the application?

The information required will be used for five purposes:

  • For evaluation by the committee as a potential speaker

  • To apply for Coach Continuing Education credits with the ICF

  • To promote the event

  • To inform attendees about your specific workshop

  • To populate a database for when other ICF chapters need presenters

What if I have handouts or other materials that I need?

Presenters are responsible for their handouts, supplies, or similar materials. A screen, a projector, a flipchart, microphone, and pens will be available.

Must I submit my application online?

Yes.

How will I know my application has been submitted successfully?

You will receive an email confirmation that your application has been received the same day it is submitted successfully.

When will I be notified of the committee’s decision?

Our goal is to notify all applicants of our decisions by November 30, 2023.

What are other opportunities to be part of the retreat?

  • Sponsorship: We have a variety of sponsorships available ranging from $100 to $5,000. With our new Whova conference app, all the sponsorships are more valuable than ever. If you are interested in volunteering, just reach out to contact@texascoachescoalition.org

  • Volunteering: The retreat committees all have projects and tasks that would benefit by having some extra hands and heads. Participating as a volunteer provides an excellent opportunity to network with other Texas coaches and have fun being instrumental in a successful event. These opportunities will be posted publicly as soon as we have the details. If you are interested in volunteering, just reach out contact@texascoachescoalition.org

  • Hosting an Affinity Group: Many participants share interests in specific topics and value discussions with other coaches who share the same interests. It’s something we’ve done for years and remains a very popular part of the retreat. You don’t have to be a subject matter expert (SME) to host a group; just have a strong personal interest in the subject and a willingness to facilitate a conversation among coaches that provide perspective, problem solving, suggested new tools or solutions, and a deeper understanding of the topic. If you are interested in hosting an Affinity Group, contact contact@texascoachescoalition.org

  • Attending: Of course the best way to participate is to attend the conference and take advantage of all the educational and social activities offered.
